Project Overview

In 2019, Lampson International teamed with Bechtel to plan and execute the heavy haul of two massive vessels destined for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization (Vit) Plant. Each vessel stood 40 feet tall and weighed 160 tons. The project required a combination of barge transport, heavy lift cranes, and specialized haul vehicles to ensure safe and precise delivery.

Key Equipment & Operations

  • Transported vessels via barge along the Columbia River, coordinated with Foss Maritime for river clearance and water level management
  • Offloaded vessels at the Port of Benton in Richland, Washington
  • Delivered vessels on specialized trailers to the Vit Plant at Hanford
  • Coordinated closely with Bechtel’s logistics team to ensure seamless operations from river to site
