THE PROJECT

In April 2024, Lampson partnered with prime contractor Goodman Mehlenbacher Enterprises, Inc. and American Rock Products to execute the lift and placement of five, 135’ precast girders, each weighing over 200,000 pounds with rigging, for the single span Vernon Smith Bridge replacement project over the Touchet River in Dayton, WA. The Lampson Manitowoc 4100, with 200’ of boom and a 130’ spreader bar, was set on a temporary ringer on the south bank of the river to perform the lifts.

The Vernon Smith Bridge replacement was a combined state and Columbia County project, estimated at 2.7 million dollars. Lampson completed the lifts on time, in accordance with Goodman and Mehlenbacher Enterprises and American Rock Products schedules, with zero safety incidents.
