Project Overview

In April 2024, Lampson partnered with Goodman Mehlenbacher Enterprises, Inc. and American Rock Products to lift and place five precast bridge girders, each 135’ long and weighing over 200,000 pounds, for the Vernon Smith Bridge replacement over the Touchet River in Dayton, Washington.

  • Crane Used: Lampson Manitowoc 4100 with 200’ boom
  • Spreader Bar: 130’
  • Girder Specifications: 135’ length, 200,000+ lbs each
  • Lift Setup: Crane mounted on a temporary ringer on the south bank of the river
  • Project Value: $2.7 million (combined state and Columbia County project)
  • Safety: Completed with zero safety incidents
