Seattle Bridge Project

Project Overview

In the first quarter of 2021, Lampson International provided a bare lease Manitowoc 18000 to American Bridge Company to support the construction of the Addition—also known as the Summit building—of the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle.

Operating in a congested urban environment, the crane lifted 16 steel truss sections, each weighing up to 100 tons and stretching up to 100 feet in length. The high-capacity lifts required precise engineering and careful crane positioning due to limited jobsite space and surrounding infrastructure.

Upon completion, the Addition will double the size of the Washington State Convention Center, delivering approximately 255,000 square feet of exhibition space, 120,000 square feet of meeting rooms, and 60,000 square feet of ballroom space. Lampson’s portion of the project spanned four months, was delivered on schedule, and achieved a zero-incident safety record, marking a successful collaboration with American Bridge Company.
