Seattle Bridge Project

THE PROJECT

In the first quarter of 2021, Lampson International bare leased a Manitowoc 18000 to American Bridge Company.  The crane assisted in the construction of the Addition project, also known as the Summit building of the Washington State Convention Center.  The crane lifted 16 truss sections, each weighing up to 100 tons and at a length of up to 100 feet, in a relatively tight section of down town Seattle.  Once construction is complete, it will double the existing capacity of the Washington State Convention Center, adding approximately 255,000 square feet of exhibition space, 120,000 square feet of meeting rooms, and 60,000 square feet of ballroom space. Our portion of the project lasted four months, was completed on time, with a zero-incident rate and was successful for both American Bridge Company and Lampson International.
