A 35-foot steel column from the World Trade Center serves as the centerpiece of Kennewick’s 9/11 Memorial at Southridge Sports and Events Complex, weighing nearly 6,000 pounds.
Lampson International, a Pasco-based company, played a key role in transporting the historic steel from New York to the Tri-Cities in 2011, using its in-house trucking company, Columbia Pacific Transport.
The memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2011—exactly 10 years after the attacks—and continues to serve as a place for the community to remember those lost and reflect on the sacrifices that followed.
